I think Mid War would be best, as people will be finishing off their Mid War stuff from the Escalation League. besides, next Game Summit (so fall/winter) we can do Late.
When you coming to visit your folks Shawn? You def. need to get a game in with us :)
I have family in the Ottawa area and more moving there this summer, so I might come up a few days before the event and stay a few after and just fly back North near the end of the month. I would love to game as much as a I can while down. I would appreciate an invite for sure. We can chat about it until the date arrives. If its mid war thats no problem my painted mid war army should be here at months end. If its late that is no issue either. Right now I am gearing up for the Early War Nationals in Penn. and the I-95 event a day before Nationals. Thats in Early July. If your playing mid war it will give me a month or so to get practised up with it. For Nationals I am going in cold so I don't expect anything, except to have a lot of fun.
I do not, but there is a chance I might have something with me. We can see what the time brings. There is nothing that says we could have a building day, I could perhaps give you guys some tips or a hand making something. That might not be of any interest but I will throw it out there.
Hey Terrain Guy... I'm really stoked that you're coming and I hope we get a chance to chat and say hi. Let me know if you need anything at all (over at the Game Summit forums, I'm Orbital101 ...http://gamesummit.ca/forum/index.php)
So, booking my plane tickets this week for the event. Just a few questions.
1. How far from Ottawa is the convention center, is it near the NHL rink?
2. It looks like I will be staying in town until around the 19th (leaving that day). So did you guys want to get some games in following the event or something?
I can give you a from anywhere to anywhere. The Nepean Sportsplex is about 15 kms from ScotiaBank place. Im assuming that your folks live in that direction, which is good.. since everyone but me lives over there (I live downtown)
Once you figure out how long you are staying, we can figure out what other games to get in after/before the event.
I am not sure where they live, I actually haven't been to their house before (well not this one anyway). I should be able to get around, but might need a lift or at the very least directions. It should like I am staying for a least a week in total.
I think I will come up and meet you guys then and play in the event.
ReplyDeleteBe great to see you! I am stoked about the first 'big' Flames of War tourney in the city!
ReplyDeleteWhat time period is it going to be, late or mid? something we should find out or decide on before registration opens.
ReplyDeleteThe Era, and points level would be cool to know.

ReplyDeleteAnd by we, I mean those among the drunken gamers with table ready to go, not me, lol

ReplyDeleteHave any terrain in Ottawa? ;)
ReplyDeleteYou mean do I have any there?
ReplyDeleteI think it was a blatant attempt to see if we would get a chance to play on your stuff :)
ReplyDeleteThis attempt is of course, fully endorsed by me too!

ReplyDeleteYa, the rink is very west.. the Nepean Sportsplex is south-west.
ReplyDeleteNeither are all that mass transit friendly.
